Year 8 Sees Dickens’ Masterpiece at the Birmingham Rep

On Thursday, Year 8 ventured beyond the classroom to see the fantastic production of A Christmas Carol at the Birmingham Rep. After a brisk walk, they were rewarded with near-stage seating and were enthralled by Mark Gatiss' acclaimed retelling of Dickens’ winter ghost story.
The special effects, stage props, sound engineering, stunning set, and superb acting brought this iconic novella vividly to life. Having studied the text since September, it was a perfect way to round off their unit with a memorable, immersive experience.
Trips like these are an intrinsic part of school life at EHS, energising our students for their lessons ahead and providing new perspectives beyond the school grounds.
Year 8 were a credit to the school, with exemplary behaviour during the walk and throughout their time at the theatre.
