On Monday of this week, school celebrated European Day of Languages but in Westbourne we extended it to look at languages from around the world.
This theme was incorporated in our Discovery Den where girls have taken the opportunity to further their knowledge of sign language, a universal language. They have been learning a new song to sing and sign together!
They have also looked at flags from around the world and learned that each country has a special flag and they enjoyed creating their own.
Girls had the opportunity to explore a variety of dual language fiction and non-fiction books too and some of the older students in our senior school have visited to share
stories in other languages too.
