Year 8's Barton Hall Adventure
23 June 2023
At the start of last week Year 8 set off for Barton Hall near Torquay in Devon on their Team Building residential. After a fairly long but chatty coach journey EHS had arrived. Students took part in many different activities during the few days we were there. It was a busy time full of fun and laughter. So many girls overcame fears, such as heights, when abseiling. The Jacobs Ladder proved to be a challenge but with excellent team work and cooperation EHS mastered it! Other activities required team work too such as climbing, archery and the infamous Aeroball.
Students were all placed in different teams which enabled lots of time and opportunities to make new friends. Our instructors were Dotty and Ava and they were great. They were fun and friendly and helped with all the activities throughout the trip. They were ably assisted by our teachers who also got stuck in to the all activities on offer, including Miss Masterson who was very competitive at the aeroball.
The highlight of the trip for many girls was that we were able to swim in the outdoor swimming pool to cool down as the weather was spectacular during our time away. Evenings were really fun too: after dinner we took part in different activities, such as treasure hunts, and enjoyed some free time to ourselves. There was lots of space to wander around and explore and a few visits to buy ice creams.
Girls in the year group said it was one of the best trips that they’d ever been on.
