Careers Conversations: Old Girl Talks Dentistry
10 March 2023
We were lucky enough to welcome back former student Ryanne Fleet (OG 2018), who gave us hints, tips and practical advice on the process of applying to study Medicine and Dentistry, as well as an insight into what the courses look like from the perspective of an undergraduate. This was open to Year 10-13 students.
Open to girls in Years 10-13, the talk was informative and extremely useful. As a fourth year student at Birmingham University, Ryanne was in an ideal position to speak to us about her experience of classes and medical training to date and was able to answer a variety of questions from students.
We were eager to learn why she decided to choose Dentistry as a career. In addition, she explained her thoughts and experiences of balancing A-levels and GCSEs alongside her co-curricular activities which students found helpful.
Lastly, she showcased handy resources such as Medify and the Medic Portal, in order to help us with the UCAT process.
We thoroughly enjoyed the talk and appreciated Ryanne giving her time up to visit us!
