Celebrating Chinese New Year
04 February 2022
The girls in Westbourne and the Prep School have have also celebrated the start of Chinese New Year and the year of the tiger in a variety of ways.
In the Prep School, a special assembly was held to focus on tigers. We also shared the pencil sketches of tigers that Year 6 had completed earlier in the week. We discovered that, like us, tigers are all a little different to each other, as were the sketches we displayed.
In Nursery, the girls experienced some ribbon dancing as part of their physical development programme for the week. They used other specific skills too, which included ordering numerals. Fine motor number writing in glitter and making cherry blossom trees.
Kindergarten girls worked on their pencil control using a fox and they made dragon decorations. They also looked at Chinese numbers, traced them and put them in the correct order. Jessie demonstrated her skills by writing Chinese numbers independently!
In After School Care this week Chinese New Year was the focus for the craft work. The girls really enjoyed wearing the tiger masks they had made and their dragon
models.
