A Day in the Life of a Sixth Former

Sixth Form

11 February 2022

There was much excitement on Monday morning when Sixth Form welcomed the current Year 11 students and a number of external students for a special Taster Day.

A chance for students to enjoy a variety of taster lessons and experience life in Sixth Form, the day got off to a great start with the opportunity to socialise over breakfast before it was on to the first Taster Session of the day. Each student was able to experience six different A Level subjects to help them make their choices in time for the new academic year when they enter Year 12.

More tasty treats were shared at break time as well as further opportunity to speak to current students and the Leadership Team before moving on to experience another round of A Level taster lessons.

At lunchtime, students flexed their new found independence, seizing the opportunity to visit the Botanical Gardens – a Sixth Form privilege - and get some much-needed fresh air before the afternoon session.

Students then attended a talk from Mrs Ehiogu, Head of Year 12, about the school’s wide-ranging enrichment opportunities and daily life in Sixth Form before finishing the day with cakes and a final chat about their experiences as an EHS Sixth Former.
