Eco Education Adventure Week
07 May 2021
This week has found Year 5 girls and staff outside and off timetable.
As we were unable to go to Yorkshire for our annual residential trip, our Geography and Science skills have been utilised in Birmingham instead and the girls have been enthusiastic throughout the week.
Girls have thrown themselves into bush-craft, making shelters deep in the woods, orienteering, pond dipping, dissecting owl pellets and designing hedgehog dens, amongst a range of opportunities.
One of the highlights for everyone has been the animal visit where each class bottle fed a lamb and learnt about genetics looking at Indian Runner Ducks and chickens.
Despite mixed weather, girls have thoroughly enjoyed the wide range of activities. The smiles as they toasted marshmallows around the camp fire said it all!
