EHS Careers Talk
07 May 2021
On Friday the 30th of April, senior school girls were lucky enough to listen to a careers talk from old girl Henrietta Mooney who is a corporate buyer.
After leaving EHS, Henrietta graduated from Nottingham Trent university in 2019, having completed a placement year at Debenhams. She was subsequently offered a job with Debenhams where she worked for a year before joining Aldi and working within their buying department.
Henrietta outlined lots of benefits in choosing a degree with a placement year, including: increasing your employability and building strong connections in your chosen field.
We also learned about the role of an assistant buyer, which is very varied and fast paced. Henrietta even gave us some top-secret information of the whereabouts of Cuthbert the Aldi caterpillar.
We are very grateful to Henrietta for giving up her time to talk in so much depth about her experiences. The year 12 girls who attended found the talk very helpful, and some will certainly be considering talking a degree with a placement year.
