Wonders of Westbourne
07 May 2021
One focus in Nursery this week has been on triangles and pyramids with an exploration of the shapes. Part of the fun was making triangles of different sizes and then making some triangular fish. The girls have also been practising their number skills by combining two groups of items to complete their addition work.
The girls in Kindergarten were also working on shapes. They sorted 2D and 3D shapes and talked about their different properties. They also enjoyed their PE session where they danced in response to music.
In Reception, girls have demonstrated their literacy skills by writing their version of the Dear Zoo story. They have excelled themselves with their independent writing skills. They also continue to be very creative in the classroom by using the collage table and making items such as handbags and pictures to take home.
In the classroom, they have enjoyed playing in the role-play area that is now a Veterinary surgery where they have diagnosed and treated the poorly pets. They have even been on an adventure and, using their imagination, were able to create some wonderful exotic new bird species. The Outdoor Classroom also proved popular this week when the girls used proper saws and hammers for the first time.
What a busy week in Westbourne!
