Swimming success
01 December 2017
Team EHS have enjoyed an extremely successful few weeks in the swimming pool at the start of the competitive season.
Our Year 7 and 8 teams narrowly missed out on a place at the national finals, being placed 40th out of 216 schools in the English Schools’ Relays. This meant EHS were just four places outside national qualification time.
Our Year 7-9 teams followed this with superb performances in a combined Senior and Prep School Gala against St Martin’s, Solihull. The final winning total of 170 points to 112 was the highest winning margin in 10 years of this highly competitive fixture. Further galas followed including mixed team events versus KEHS and King’s High, Warwick where swimmers once again posted new personal best times.
On Thursday 23 November, our Year 7 and 8 combined team of Lowri Bevan, Daisy Bevan, Carys Hayes, Jemima Jackson and Jahnvi Patel participated in the prestigious Warwick 50s Gala held at Warwick School. This gala draws the best swimming teams from 10 counties and produces extremely competitive racing. EHS were placed 2nd in backstroke, 3rd in Freestyle and 5th in Individual Medley from 20 of the best swimming schools, which is an exceptional result.
We look forward to our upcoming galas against KEHS and KE Camp Hill in the coming weeks and further events in the spring term.
