Excellent results for EHS gymnasts
16 March 2018
Earlier this week, EHS teams were delighted to compete in the Birmingham Schools Gymnastics Competition.
The competition required each girl to perform individually on the floor and vault with their scores combining to give an overall team score.
The morning session saw two EHS U12 teams and two individual O14 girls of Rita Muttalib and Tahjai Brown perform. The EHS U12 Blue team of Mollie Hewison, Katie Henderson, Jemima Jackson, Ariella Randall, Lucille Sutton and Ruby Morris-Trigg performed well and placed overall 2nd as a team.
The EHS U12 Red team of Rosie Isaac, Zahira Hasan, Siena Vora, Rhea Ganesh, Amarah Khan and Alma Damer shone and placed 1st overall as a team. A fantastic achievement.
On individual pieces Siena Vora placed third on floor, with Mollie Hewison taking 2nd place. On the vault Mollie Hewison placed first with a near perfect vault resulting in her taking overall individual first place crowning her the U12 champion for the second year running!
The U14 competition took place over the course of the afternoon. The U14 team, consisting Charlotte Miller, Jennifer Reidy, Nyah Khera, Issy Birch, Amber Lyttle and Milly Mayo, performed to a very high standard: the girls displayed fantastic floor routines with Charlotte Miller placing third and Issy Birch placing 1st. Charlotte Miller placed third overall with her combined floor and vault score. As a team they placed second overall.
Congratulations on another successful competition for the EHS Gym Squads! Well done to all!
