Art is a very popular subject amongst the girls in the Prep School and we are always looking for different ways to inspire them both within and beyond the curriculum.
On Friday 15 March, Year 4 girls were inspired by an innovative and exciting Art Watercolour workshop from a passionate local artist- Kirstie Trobe.
The girls admired her collection of paintings including dogs, bumble bees and garden landscapes and they had the opportunity to ask unusual questions about art technique and an artist’s career.
An important fact they learnt was how watercolour is very different from other painting media.
They were then taught watercolour skills to create their own unique and vibrant paintings, transforming them into birds, insects and sea creatures.
The girls had a fantastic day and were very proud of their finished paintings. This was a fantastic addition to our Art calendar.
