Inspiration at the Learning Hub

As always, it has been a busy couple of weeks in the Learning Hub!
Our journey began with International Women's Day on March 8, when we focused on inclusion and empowerment. This momentum carried us through Science Week, spanning from the 8 - 15 March. Our festivities commenced with a nostalgic screening of the original Back to the Future film (from 1985!), setting the stage for a week brimming with excitement.
The ensuing days were a whirlwind of activity:
• Monday saw the launch of a captivating Colouring Competition.
• Tuesday engaged participants in "What's Under the Microscope" and Mini Quiz competitions.
• Wednesday introduced the innovative experience of Smellovision.
• Thursday invited students to explore the world of Thermosetting Polymer Jewellery.
• Friday concluded with a thrilling screening of Back to the Future Pt2.
Students from all year groups showcased their senses, talents, creativity, and knowledge through active participation in these events. Meanwhile, the Learning Hub transformed into a showcase of diverse careers within Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Technology.
To cap off our STEM-themed week, we had the privilege of attending a live webinar on March 18, organised by the GSA. Chahal Gupta, Senior Product Manager at Transport for London, shared her inspiring journey into the world of Technology, shedding light on the challenges she encountered as a woman in a predominantly male-dominated industry.
Students from across all year groups tested their senses, skills, creativity and knowledge participating in these events. The displays across the Learning Hub delved into the variety of careers within each area of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Technology.
