Lifeguards Head to Commonwealth Pool

The countdown to the Commonwealth Games is officially on and with just 76 days to go until the games begin, it’s not just the participating athletes who are limbering up.
EHS lifeguards have been invited to be the official lifeguards at the test event from 20-22 May and ahead of the event this week they visited the commonwealth pool at Sandwell Aquatics Centre as part of their training.
The girls successfully completed their 5m depth test to recover the training dummy from the bottom and were then trained in Pool Extraction board in the 5m deep dive pool. It
was a tough exercise and we are delighted that all girls passed the testing and can now look forward to lifeguarding the Commonwealth Games test event in a few weeks’ time.
Well done to Marie Eve, Isabel, Diya, Afia, Georgina and Charlotte who all took part.
