Year 11 step up to Sixth Form

Senior School

08 February 2019

EHS Sixth Form can be characterised as an intense period of study coupled with the chance to develop leadership skills and confidence, explore talents and build further upon strong relationships with tutors and fellow students.

As they prepare for the transition to Sixth Form, EHS pupils in Year 11 will have the opportunity to sample life in the Sixth Form at the forthcoming Taster Day on Monday 11 February.

Following an introductory talk from the Heads of Sixth Form, the girls will hear first-hand from current Year 12 and Year 13 students about life in the Sixth Form, before attending taster lessons designed to showcase both the breadth of A Level subject options choices available to study and how the school adapts teaching and learning to suit our most senior pupils.

There will also be time to explore the popular Sixth Form enrichment programme which offers girls the chance to spend Wednesday afternoons developing interests outside the classroom - recent options have included studying for the Extended Project Qualification, Golf, Politics, Russian for beginners, volunteering and even the honing of culinary skills with the Fine Dining course.

We hope all students will find the day a very useful introduction to independent study and the positive and welcoming environment of EHS Sixth Form.
