Celebrating a Royal Wedding

In the Prep Department the girls and staff from Years 1 – 6 came to school in red, white and blue as part of the celebrations for the Royal Wedding.
Each year group took part in a range of activities linked to the special event. Year 1 girls enjoyed being outside and solving clues in the treasure hunt. In Year 2 the royal
family tree was investigated in line with their History studies about the Queen’s coronation and they also designed some plates which made excellent mementoes of the occasion.
In Years 3 and 4 the girls became wedding dress designers. Using newspaper as fabric they worked together in teams to create dresses fit for a princess. We wonder if Meghan might have considered us as her designers.
To complete the royal occasion Year 5 girls designed and made some bouquets, with very attractive and colourful results.
At morning break we then gathered together to send our very best wishes to the special couple.
