We have been very proud of the many girls who have taken LAMDA examinations this week. They have been calm and well prepared and entered and left the exam rooms with big smiles.
There have also been opportunities for the girls to perform without examiners this week. We were delighted by the Year 1 presentation of their assembly to parents all based on the theme of bodies and their studies in subjects across the curriculum. Then 28 Year 3 and 4 girls took part in the Teatime Concert in front of a delighted audience on Thursday.
We have looked beyond the curriculum in our other assemblies this week too with a marking of Commonwealth Day and our membership of the 56 country strong organisation. We also considered the importance of sleep to keep our bodies and brains healthy as 15 march is World Sleep Day.
In class studies some highlights have included Year 6 girls have continued to hone their sketching skills in our Art Studio whilst Year 1 girls created an impromptu puppet show with their own creations. Year 2 girls have really enjoyed using their practical Mathematics skills to solve capacity problems.
Our sportswomen have been hard at work too. Our Year 5 and 6 Netball squads had a busy weekend away developing their netball skills whilst our U9 Cross Country team performed very well at the Hallfield Invitational event last Friday. Then on Thursday members of our Swim Squad took part in the ESSA qualifiers. This week our Year 5 and 6 Inter House Netball matches have taken place with results and the winning trophy to be announced next week.
Our week has ended with our support of Red Nose Day wearing as much red as possible, sporting our own badge designs and enjoying our specially designed noses on display. We will announce our total raised for the worthy charity next week in our final assembly along with the winners of our Easter Bunny Bucket Challenge.
Our final assembly of the week had much to celebrate. We congratulated our Cross Country and ESSA Teams and Ayana Alidina, Jashvita Santhosh and Nell Paton on receiving Gymnastics awards. There was a Zentangle Challenge Board award for Habiba too.
Next week there is even more to look forward to with our Ensembles Concert on Monday, Year 1 Open House for parents on Tuesday and Thursday and their trip on Wednesday. There are parent meetings on Tuesday for Year 5 and Year 4 parents on Wednesday regarding the residential trips.
We hope everyone enjoys the weekend.
