For many Nursery girls this is their first experience of school and they have settled extremely well in just three weeks. They are enjoying getting to know each other and to completing a range of activities each day.
This week the sun has been shining on their yellow week. They have been exploring all things yellow in the curiosity cube including careful study of lemons. They have also worked on their fine motor skills by chopping yellow bananas, making yellow lemon curd sandwiches and then printing yellow hand shapes.
The first Discovery Den of the term has given the children an opportunity to discover languages from around the world. They have been looking at Arabic numbers, Chinese animal names and how to say some key words in Portuguese and French. Girls have also spent time learning to sign different letters. Perhaps next week they will be able to use sign language to communicate their names!
We have enjoyed getting to know parents too at our workshop and coffee morning and look forward to welcoming them to the planned events this term.
