Pancake Race Fun
04 March 2022
Pancake Day offers us the opportunity to hold an event which includes all girls from Years 1 – 6 in the same Inter House event.
Having heard in assembly about the origins of eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, and having pancakes for lunch, the girls were very excited to represent their Houses in our annual pancake relay race. Everyone gathered on the playground eagerly awaiting their turn to take part.
Year 6 girls were first to participate. They lined up in their Houses and we were off. Each girl ran to the middle of the court, tossed the pancake 6 times, handed on the pan to a Housemate and then sat down. Year 5 were next and they tossed their pancakes 5 times. The relay gathered momentum until it was finally the turn of Year 1. This was their first House event and they represented their Houses with great commitment.
For the first time we also had a staff race which gave the girls an added bonus.
The final result, when all points were added together, was a win for Johnson House. Congratulations to all girls involved and to ?? who won the staff race.
Everyone is really looking forward to more opportunities to represent their Houses.
