Pirates of the Curry Bean
01 April 2022
After several years of not being able to perform a musical we were delighted to welcome parents back to the Octagon and on Tuesday 29 and Thursday 31 March the audience at the Year 6 production sailed the seven seas to arrive at the Island of Lumbago in the Sea of Sciatica in search of treasure!
The production was performed in ‘piratical style’ throughout with tremendous performances from all of the girls and, whether singing, acting or dancing the girls had smiles on their faces throughout. We were particularly proud of the girls who stepped into to cover additional roles in the absence of friends.
Featured in the musical were pirates, sailors, rats, natives and even a couple of Health and Safety Inspectors! There were also some terrible jokes which kept the audience laughing from start to finish and it was clear that the girls thoroughly enjoyed performing.
It was a truly team effort with many staff and Senior School pupils involved in the background, giving musical accompaniment, technical lighting and sound expertise, costume and prop making and make-up girls and back stage crew. With special thanks, of course, to Miss Robinson who rehearsed and directed the girls.
Congratulations to all involved.
