Spelling Bee creates a buzz

On the last day of half term, Mrs Ehiogu and Ms Jones-Owen gathered all of Year 7 into the Octagon to take part in the EHS annual Spelling Bee. The dynamic Mr Dukes wore his dazzling Quiz Master jacket and took to the floor as he quizzed his ‘buzzing’ competitors.
In Houses, the girls were asked a series of quick-fire spellings on Science, Music and Languages, Art and Technology, Classics and Humanities. They were also asked to define words, such as ‘sublimation’, ‘nominative’ and ‘carbohydrate’. All girls tackled the challenges with enthusiasm but ultimately there could only be one winner.
Well done to St. Andrew’s house!
