Ensembles Concert Showcases Musical Excellence
Westbourne | Preparatory | Senior School | Sixth Form
29 April 2022
It has been almost three years since the last combined Prep and Senior ensembles concert at EHS. The concert on Wednesday this week featured students from Year 3 to Year 13 with each musical ensemble performing in front of a large audience in the Octagon. For many of the Prep school students, it was their first opportunity to perform as part of their respective groups.
The programme for the evening contained a variety of Choir and Instrumental items. We were delighted to welcome some Old Girls back to the school to perform with the Senior Orchestra. There was also the opportunity to hear some new Chamber Ensembles established by Mrs O’Mally, all of which contributed to the great variety of the event.
The features ensembles and musical items were as follows:
Senior Orchestra 'The Young Prince and the Young Princess’ R. Korsakov (Violin: Caitlin Kisumba) Movement III from Sheherazade Op. 35.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr Skilbeck, Mr Southall, Mrs O’Mally, Miss Smith, Miss Rogers, Mr Powell, Mr Pepper and Mr Berman as well as old girls, Jody Smith, Zoe Ager, Lucie Carey and Eryna Kisumba. A number of Senior School girls were also indispensable during the preparation for this event and the concert so I would like to thank Caitlin (violin), Zoha (flute), Jessica (flute), Abigail (oboe), Maya (lighting) and Lauren (photos). Without everyone’s commitment, these events certainly would not be possible. Thank you all on behalf of the Music Department and Edgbaston High School.
