The West End comes to EHS

Senior School

15 June 2018

West End performer Kieron Brown visited EHS last week to give a talk in Music Assembly about his career in Musical Theatre and the training he had undertaken.

He spoke at length about the resilience needed to succeed in this industry and dispelled many myths about the perceived glamour of working on the stage.

It is particularly fitting that Kieron visited EHS as he has played the part of ‘The Phantom’ in the Lloyd-Webber’s most enduring musical, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He remarked that playing this role has become one of his most treasured memories and it came about in the most unlikely of circumstances due to an injury to another cast member mid-show.

We were lucky to have Mr Brown work with Year 7 Performing Arts students where he ran a workshop teaching the vocals and choreography for the opening scene of the hit musical ‘Wicked’. All of the students very much enjoyed the workshop and were able to have a glimpse into the world of Musical Theatre.
