Year 6 Leavers’ Celebration

Preparatory

08 July 2022

There are always so many mixed emotions as we reach the end of an academic year and realise that, once again, we will be saying farewell to members of our school community. The annual leavers’ celebration event, however, does give us the chance to celebrate all that our Year 6 girls have achieved in their time in school whether they joined in Nursery, Year 6 or somewhere in between.

This year, for the first time, our event took place in the marquee which proved to be a perfect venue.  We were joined by Year 6 parents and all girls and staff from Years 2 to 6 on Tuesday afternoon.

During the afternoon we had the opportunity to recall special memories shared by the girls, thank them for their contribution to our community, award some prizes and wish them much luck as they take their next steps on their educational journey.

We added our official farewell wishes to Mrs Draper who is leaving us this year and thank her for her commitment to EHS.  We are also delighted by the new trophy she has given - The Draper Globe Award. We know her passion for Geography will live long in the Prep School and will be remembered each year.

We were delighted to hear a selection of songs from the recent school production sung by Year 6 and their rendition of ‘Believe’ brought tears to many parents and girls. We certainly believe in them going forward to successful futures.

The proceedings were brought to a close in time honoured tradition at EHS with three cheers guided by our Head and Deputy Head girls.

We send our Year 6 girls off with our best wishes.
