Year 9 explore Oxford's Ashmolean Museum
06 December 2019
Girls in Year 9 were delighted to visit Oxford’s famous Ashmolean Museum for a trip with a difference.
The day was made up of three main activities: a taught session from a museum representative, an artefact hunt around the museum itself and a walking tour to explore the beautiful city of Oxford.
The girls enjoyed the Ashmolean, relishing the opportunity to handle real Roman artefacts and ask the museum experts questions. They also got into the spirit of the artefact hunt with some girls getting very competitive! The walking tour was a great success too; the girls learnt about the Oxford collegiate system and saw famous landmarks such as the Radcliffe Camera and the covered market (Ben’s Cookies was a big favourite of the day)!
Year 9 thoroughly enjoyed themselves and lots of the girls are now inspired to consider Oxford as a future university destination.
