An Audience With EHS
08 March 2024
It was show time in the Octagon last week when we staged ‘An Audience With EHS’, an exclusive event for prospective Year 7 pupils. Aimed at showcasing the essence of EHS and offering a glimpse into Senior School life, the event promised a memorable experience.
Before taking their seats guests were invited to enjoying a delicious tea, accompanied by the enchanting melodies of Year 10 Music Students, Eunice T and Samantha K, graceful piano performances from Year 10 musicians Eunice and Samantha.
The evening officially began with a warm welcome from Mrs Macro, followed by a brief talk from Head of Year 7, Ms Jones-Owen, which focused on the transition from primary to secondary school.
Attendees then had the opportunity to engage with a pupil panel where girls from various age groups, guided by Dr Rajp, shared their personal experiences. From highlighting their favourite aspects of school life to discussing the curriculum and daily routines as a pupil in the Senior School, the panel provided valuable insights. The lively Q&A session helped to further paint a picture of life at EHS and the girls really seemed to enjoy fielding questions posed by the audience.
Guests were treated to two fantastic musical performances. Year 8 pupil Sarah S showcased her talent with an acoustic rendition of "Hey There Delilah" by American rock band Plain White T’s. The audience was then transported into the magical world of Disney as Milly Cross sang her rendition of "Part of Your World" from "The Little Mermaid." Both performances were chosen from St Francis, the winning house of the recent Senior Musician of the Year competition.
Closing the event on a high note, dancers Charlotte, Monica, and Daisy-Mae took to the stage with a captivating performance of "Triplet." Choreographed by Year 13 Dance student Lucille Sutton, the dance drew inspiration from the natural elements, reflecting the interconnectedness of form and balance.
There was a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event, with attendees thoroughly enjoying the evening. Thank you to the following pupils involved (some of whom are pictured) who made it such a success.
