Year 6 Enrichment

Preparatory

29 April 2022

Following the success of the Year 6 drama production of ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’ at the end of last term the girls have returned this term to an exciting programme of enrichment activities. This article shares the first round of beyond the curriculum activities available.

The majority of girls have opted for the Bikeability sessions. These help with riding techniques and with learning the rules of the road and how to keep safe whilst cycling.  These have been very popular and extremely valuable.  The girls have cycled on our hard courts and on the roads.

Back at school, the girls have been able to study the techniques of Van Gogh with a study of his painting, ‘Starry Sky.’ They had a mixture of media to select from to create their own version of the well-known masterpiece. The display is definitely gallery quality.

The third option in the first round of activities is Dragon’s Den. The girls have been developing their entrepreneurial and collaboration skills as they invent a product to pitch to the EHS Dragons' Den. There are some fantastic product designs, logos and presentations in the offing! Who will secure their investment?

As the term progresses the girls will have the opportunity to experience drone days, dog agility, basketball, squash amongst others which we will report on as the term progresses.
