Awards Ceremony Celebrates Excellence

Senior School

22 October 2021

We are always impressed by the tenacity and endeavour of our students, and never has this been more true than when considering the challenges of the last year or so. Hosted on Friday and live streamed to guests, the Senior School Awards Ceremony was held in recognition of the considerable academic achievements of pupils in Years 7-10 during the year 2020-21.

Prizes for Outstanding Academic Achievement were awarded to pupils who had performed particularly well in their end of year assessments.

Certificates for Progress were given to those pupils who had made the most progress during the course of the academic year.

Certificates for Effort were awarded on the basis of staff nomination to those pupils who staff felt had worked consistently hard during the whole year.

A number of other prizes and trophies for achievements in Sport, Art, Music, D & T and F & N were awarded. These will be followed by individual subject prizes handed out in the individual year group awards assemblies at the end of term.

Although the main focus of the afternoon was, undoubtedly, a celebration of the many academic achievements of our pupils, we also took the opportunity afforded by the occasion to showcase and enjoy the wider talents of our students in two special musical performances:  Lily Mobasher sang ‘The Light in the Piazza’ by Craig Lucas and Maia Kanagaratnum sang ‘Cry Me a River’ by Arthur Hamilton.

Congratulations to all of the award winners and grateful thanks to all who contributed towards the staging of this event. We now look forward to celebrating the successes of this academic year.

Mrs Cirillo-Campbell
Deputy Head Pastoral
