Spring Term Excellence Book

We are constantly amazed by the high quality of work produced by pupils of all ages here at EHS. In recognition of that talent and hard work, each term teachers are asked to nominate outstanding or excellent work to the Excellence Book. This term, we have once again seen work of an extraordinarily high calibre produced by girls in every year and across a range of subjects. Congratulations to the following students in the Senior School and Sixth Form for some exceptional work.

Completed this painting of a Poppy Seed in Art as an extension activity. A true masterpiece. |

For stunning graphics work. The detailed captured in her Graphics artwork was extraordinary. |

For a beautiful design work and for explaining her ideas with clarity. |

For a fabulous detailed poster on the designer Vivienne Westwood. The use of fabrics on the poster was a particular highlight. |
Amrita Dhillon (Y8) |
For a wonderfully detailed and informative piece of work on Vivienne Westwood. Amrita captured the essence of Vivienne’s life and work. Very impressive. |
Manahil Saeed (Y8) |
For a lovely poster on Vivienne Westwood charting her work from 1971-1999. Excellent detail and careful presentation. |
Lana Khan (Y8) |
For an exquisite booklet that Lana created on the designer Mary Quant. Lana made the booklet herself and then populated it with lots of information and pictures of Mary’s life and work. |
Kate Stockton (Y9) |
For her Teen Vogue article on Cotton production. The detail, thought and effort that went into producing the article was excellent. |
Tiffany Latham (Y8) |
For an excellent and informative poster on Vivienne Westwood. Tiffany researched the rebellious side to the designer and thought carefully as to how she would present the information so that Vivienne Westwood’s iconic colour themes ran throughout. |
Lily Mobasher (Y10) |
For excellent design work and development of her ideas. Lily’s final design of a blue panelled dress was stunning. |

For an outstanding essay on the novel ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. The detail and analysis of the theme of bravery and courage in the novel was fantastic. |

For a fabulous essay on bravery and courage in the novel ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. Wonderful use of language to convey great understanding of the novel and themes. |
Isabella Jackson (Y7) |
For an excellent Macbeth diary entry. Isabella captured the character very well and her work was wonderfully detailed. |
Zoe Teredesai (Y7) |
For a first rate piece of work capturing the confusion and ambition of Macbeth. Zoe’s teacher called the diary entry ‘detailed and dynamite’. |
Sana Mirza (Y8) |
For conveying Maggie’s voice in Hobson’s Choice exceptionally well and for using interesting language to bring energy to her writing. |

A fabulous and detailed diary entry showing how much Ruqayyah has understood the storyline of Hobson’s Choice. |

Students analysed the Play ‘Hobson’s Choice’ and decided to bring the play to life as it would be today. TikTok videos were created which showed an excellent understanding. This was celebrated in the Hexagon and videos were showcased and explained brilliantly. |

Isla Batchelor (Y7) |
For a fantastic modern version of the dagger speech in Macbeth. Isla translated the Shakespeare text very well and conveyed an accurate tone to the character of Macbeth. |

For an excellent, detailed and accurate modern version of the speech. Abigail’s understanding of the characters and language of the lay shone through. |

For an incredible detailed and engaging fact file poster on the Matis Tribe. Manahil researched the tribe extensively and was particularly interested in the use of frog poison. |

For an excellent poster fact file on the Yanomami Tribe. Tiffany selected a wide variety of information to record and displayed it in an engaging way. |

For a wonderful poster on tourism in Iceland. Jasmine went with the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’ themes. Excellent detail and fact included. |

For creating a boardgame from scratch to demonstrate the Tudor religious rollercoaster. It demonstrated effort and originality. Anya also made her own dice – that worked! |

For creating a newspaper style piece of homework entitled ‘The Mathematician’. Sumara went above and beyond what was asked and taught both Mrs Lee and Mrs Macro something new in the process. |

For creating a fantastic video resource on how to solve quadratic equations by The Quadratic Formula. Mrs Macro particularly enjoyed the jaunty music playing in the background. |

For creating a brilliant video on ‘similar’ shapes that could be used as a teaching/revision resource. Mrs Macro was taken back to her GCSE Maths days. |

Produced a fantastic Maths Podcast. The podcast was funny, highly informative and wold be an excellent resource for teaching Trigonometry. The work was produced for extra homework in Maths. |

Produced a fantastic Maths Podcast. The podcast was very informative and included some amazing sound effects. It was both fun and detailed. A great way to teach Simultaneous Equations. |
