Lucy Reads her Way to Fundraising Success

Back in February we reported on the efforts of Lucy in Year 8 who took on a ‘Readathon’ to raise funds for Book Aid International, an educational charity that sends books to disadvantaged and marginalised people across the world.
Starting in the most recent lockdown, Lucy managed to smash her original target, reading a remarkable 21 books over a 4 month period and raising an incredible £1,800! Thanks to this money, 900 books will be sent out to communities in locations all over the world, helping Book Aid to continue their inspirational work.
Lucy said: “This is a message to say a big thank you to everyone for helping me raise money for my readathon. The money raised will have really helped people get the books they need and I’m truly grateful for everyone’s support.
