Marking World Book Day

Senior School

18 March 2022

They may have celebrated World Book Day a week after the official date of 4 March but, as always, the Senior School did it in style.

Pupils were invited to bring their favourite book characters to life last Friday, and thankfully the spirit of World Book Day was still alive and kicking as numerous students came in to school dressed up, some with truly exceptional costumes. Several girls had donned inflatable outfits to achieve the rotund shape associated with characters from the Mister Men books; others crafted their own dragon masks to mimic the multi-headed dragon famed in the Dungeons & Dragons books - Tiamat, Mother of Dragons. How many characters can you spot in the photographs below?

Students put in a phenomenal effort to dress up as some of their most beloved and iconic characters. Librarian Miss Lee was very impressed and has said she cannot wait for the next World Book Day in 2023. Will the students of EHS be able to top this year’s efforts? Let’s hope so!
