Mathematicians Let Loose in Legoland
17 June 2022
On Thursday 9 June we started off the day bright and early ready for our Year 8 Maths Trip to Legoland. Though the coach journey proved long and tiresome we did not let this dampen our mood. The air was buzzing with excitement as we stepped off the coach, ready to embark on this new, mathematical journey.
With a soundtrack of ‘We Will Rock You’ playing in the background we made our way to Miniland, an area of Legoland with mini buildings made of Lego. These exciting little buildings transported us to a whole new world! It truly felt like we had travelled around the globe as we admired this fascinating art form. From Trafalgar Square, Sydney Opera House, The Guggenheim to Kennedy Space House; it was incredible to see that you could do so much with Lego. We collected lots of data that we are excited to analyse in our upcoming lessons.
Later, we gained the freedom to explore the park ourselves and the thrill-seekers amongst us headed straight to the rides. Whether we were screaming at the top of our lungs on the Dragon or getting drenched on the Pirate Falls, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Holding onto each other for dear life in the Haunted House whilst spooks and scares came from every direction was a great way to bond for us all.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the staff who supervised this trip. You made our first EHS trip such a memorable experience. A special shoutout must be given to Mr Ball who very kindly took the time to arrange everything for us.
