Last week ended with an Egyptian Day for Year 6 and a visit to Ash End Farm for Year 2 both of which were thoroughly enjoyed, and added to the girls’ knowledge.  You can read about both of these experiences separately.

This week has also been a busy one. It began with some Year 6 girls attending the Gold Commonwealth Games Netball Festival. The girls took part in a tournament in which they played very well.

Tuesday brought a different experience when the Charity Fair took place on the playground.  It was very successful and set the Year 6 girls up well for their final enrichment session of the term. On Wednesday, it was the turn of the Year 5 girls who presented their speeches on why they would like to be House Captains next year.

All of the girls in each House were able to cast their votes to elect their next House officials.

This week’s assemblies gave the opportunity for us to consider our School Behaviour Code and how we apply it each day in school.  We also had our Celebration Assembly with congratulations to everyone for their behaviour and their participation on Sports Day. There were, as usual, certificates for Independent Learning which were awarded to Supreeta and Isla in Year 3 and for individual achievements. Well done to Katerina on her 25 meters swimming certificate and to Eliza S, Riyana and Haaniya for Karate. Eliza S also gained medals for a Mud Run for Charity and for guitar.  Ciara gained an individual medal for guitar too.

We also congratulated our guitarists on retaining the Karen Knott Cup for the best guitar ensemble at the Leamington Spa Festival and to all girls who have represented the school this week.

We have held three sports days and have finished the week with a Viking Workshop for Year 3 and a Minibeasts Concert from Year 2.  These will be reported on next week when we look forward to welcoming new girls joining Prep in September on Monday and our Year 6 parents to a Leavers’ celebration in the marquee on Tuesday afternoon.

Next week is our final week of school before breaking up for a well-earned rest.
