Professor of Chemistry kicks off academic lectures programme
13 September 2019
The EHS Academic Lecture Programme offers a broad range of thought-provoking talks from an eclectic mix of expert speakers and is an exciting opportunity to hear from some of the foremost thinkers in industry and business, science, the arts and the charity sector, and beyond. Our first lecture of the year will be taken by Professor Andrew Dove on Tuesday 24 September at 4.00pm.
Andrew is an award-winning professor of Chemistry who specialises in developing new Degradable Materials and Sustainable Polymers. He has studied and lectured at some of the best universities in the world, including Imperial College, London, and Stanford. He now leads a team of researchers at the University of Birmingham and his work in developing sustainable, environmentally friendly materials has earned him over 20 awards so far. His talk will focus on his current projects and some of their challenges.
We look forward to Professor Dove's presentation and to more talks later in the Autumn when we shall hear from Dr Ruth Gilligan, author and senior lecturer in Creative Writing, and leading consultant ophthalmic surgeon Dr Shabbir Mohamed.
