Year 7 Map Out a Malvern Adventure

Senior School

28 June 2024

In their Geography curriculum, Year 7 students have been learning about map skills. As part of a field trip, they visited the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. Their first challenge was to climb the Worcestershire Beacon, the highest peak of the hills. Once they reached the top, they were given some map skill tasks to complete whilst looking at the eye catching landscape.

After a challenging climb, the students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. They then indulged in some delicious ice cream, a sweet treat to reward themselves for their hard work. Energised and excited, the students embarked on their next adventure - climbing the Herefordshire Beacon.

As the day came to a close, the pupils reflected on their experiences and the valuable lessons they had learned. The field trip to Malvern Hills had not only been a fun and memorable outing but also a hands-on learning opportunity that had deepened their understanding of Geography and map skills. We returned to school with a newfound appreciation for the world around us and a sense of accomplishment from conquering the hills of Worcestershire. This great trip will be one that Year 7 will definitely remember for years to come.
